Manju Vashishta, CKBD
Manju is an independent Kitchen and Bathroom Design consultant in the Chicago, Illinois area. Having relocated from Raleigh, North Carolina, she continues to design and remodel remotely nationwide. She is a member of the local NKBA chapter and a Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer (CKBD). She has been in the Architecture, Interior Design and Construction industry since 1994.
From Blueprint to Reality: Architectural Foundations (1994 – Present)
Before dedicating her practice exclusively to high-end residential interiors, Manju built a robust career managing monumental, high-security commercial, institutional, and industrial design operations. National Corporate & Retail Brands (1998 – 2002): Generated critical construction documentation, site planning layouts, and multi-dimensional architectural renderings for national brands including McDonald's (Eastern Region), Kroger, Bob Evans, Wendy's, and Chipotle.

Panera Bread & Wendy's National Accounts (1998 – 2000): Spearheaded the technical formulation of original prototype floor plans, structural kitchen traffic integrations, and exterior building elevations during her tenure at Roy Yoder Architects in Columbus, Ohio—directly drafting the corporate spatial baselines and innovative co-branded concept layouts used during the brands' early central Ohio expansions, including the foundational developments in New Albany

University of Dayton "Art Street" Campus (2002 – 2004): Architected innovative specialized interior and exterior metal cladding for the $9 million academic and creative arts complex.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport Terminal 2 (2005 – 2009): Executed major construction infrastructure blueprints, spatial workflows, and comprehensive interior design documents alongside O'Brien Atkins Associates during the historic development of Terminal 2 (Phases 1 & 2).

NC Department of Juvenile Justice (2007 – 2009): Drafted highly complex blueprints, secure interior configurations, and interior finishes for secure regional 32-bed and 96-bed Youth Development Centers.

Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical Plant (2007 – 2009): Handled technical interior spatial planning, equipment layouts, and corporate execution blueprints for the massive FlexPen Distribution & Assembly Plant and Executive Suites in Clayton, North Carolina.

Hospitality & Culinary Operations: Her professional training from the prestigious Institute of Hotel Management, Catering, and Nutrition (Pusa Institute, Delhi) provides a rare mastery of physical culinary workflows. Because Manju is an enthusiastic home cook who intimately understands the daily logistics of food preparation, she designs kitchens as highly efficient, ergonomic culinary workspaces rather than just a collection of beautiful cabinets.
Certified Kitchen Designer
In 2015 she switched her career to a Kitchen and Bath Designer, where at Home Depot she earned her certification from HD University. She has experience coordinating installations with numerous General Contractors throughout her employment at Home Depot and Lowe's Home Improvement Stores. She is skilled in preparing construction documents, as and when needed for a remodel or for a concept for a new build.

In 2015 she switched her career to a Kitchen and Bath Designer, where at Home Depot she earned her certification from HD University. She has experience coordinating installations with numerous General Contractors throughout her employment at Home Depot and Lowe's Home Improvement Stores. She is skilled in preparing construction documents, as and when needed for a remodel or for a concept for a new build.
Fabricator of Custom Window Treatments
In 1994 she launched her first business ‘Indoor Concepts’ in Columbus, Ohio. Where she used her sewing skills in designing, fabricating and installing custom window treatments in residences. Even today she enjoys arts and crafts. View her albums on FACEBOOK -
Grocery Store Drafting and Design
In 1998 she completed her Diploma in Interior Design and CADD tech courses was hired by Roy J. Yoder Architects as a Cad Intern. Her projects consisted of CADD for Kroger Stores in Ohio. She drafted 40 construction documents from hard copy drawings. Further along she was part of the Kroger group of architects and generated 3D graphics of Grocery Stores and their site plans.
Residential Remodel
In 2003, this home remodel was partially completed. I am sharing the designs and renderings that were proposed for the Master Bathroom, Kitchen and Front Deck. Floor plan was on AutoCAD 2002, Renderings on Studio Viz 3D and AutoCAD 2002.
